Thank you to all of you who have submitted your photos to this year's competition. The finalists have now been chosen by our judges and here are the 12 images for The Ionian 2012 Calendar. Read all about our judges and the two images they chose as worthy of particular mention on our home page.  Also, congratulations to Liz Roberts - her photograph, 'Lady of Mitika,' was chosen for the cover of this year's calendar. Congratulations to the winners and we hope to receive even more photographs from all of you for our next year's competition.

CONTEST RULES:
Send in your best photos of the Ionian. Twelve winning images will feature in The Ionian magazine’s 2012 Calendar.

Subject: People, Nature and Landscape of the Ionian. 

Photos should be technically flawless (watch your horizon), in colour and horizontal format. Sorry, digital images only. One per email please. Label your photos with the title, location, subject and your name and email address – you can do this on your computer in the properties. Also, a paragraph or two about you and the photo would be welcome. Take a look at last year's entries for examples.

Winners: The best photos will feature on our website during the year and the winning entries will be published in The Ionian as well as the calendar. There will also be readers’ choice awards for the three most popular entries.

Deadline for entries: September 30, 2011.

Contest Rules: 1. No purchase necessary. All competitions are open to readers aged 18 or over, except employees and their families of The Ionian, its printers and any other company associated with the competitions. 3 All prizes must be accepted as offered. 4. There can be no alternative awards, cash or otherwise. In the event of a competition prize not being available, we reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. 5. All prize details and prices are correct at the time of going to press. 6. Proof of postage cannot be accepted as proof of delivery. No responsibility can be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed or damaged in post or cyberspace. 7. No correspondence can be entered into and no entry returned. 8. More than one entry per photographer will be accepted, provided each is in a separate email. 9. The decision of the Editor and judges is final. 10. Winners will be notified by email by way of an official letter from us, after the closing date, and the results of the competitions will be published in a future issue. 11. Entry implies acceptance of these rules. 12. While every effort is made to ensure all prize details are correct at the time of going to press, we cannot be held responsible for incorrect prize details supplied by sponsors. 13. Winners must be prepared to co-operate with publicity arising as a result of winning the competition. 14. The Ionian retains the right to reuse the photographs on the website and in print.
